Designed to treat your drinking water, our reverse osmosis is a point-of-use system for the kitchen only with its own faucet. The reverse osmosis in many cases can also be connected to the fridge. Each system has an automatic shut off valve as a standard feature. If water is detected under the sink the system will stop working until addressed. This protects your property if there happens to be a leak from the RO unit, or can signal a problem from another source of water damage. This allows us to address issues that minimizes concerns such as leaks.
Is Reverse Osmosis healthy?
There is a vigorous debate these days on whether it is healthy to drink pure reverse osmosis water (almost distilled) depleted of essential minerals compared to drinking water that has essential minerals (calcium and magnesium) and alkaline properties.
Our business has taken a stand in the water treatment community, that it is not healthy to drink distilled water (water with acidic properties, positively charged, and lacking minerals). Removing pollution by purification is certainly important but only half of what is important. The other half is returning the healthy properties with the Alkaline Mineral Filter.
City Water assembles our own reverse osmosis system featuring only the highest quality components supplied by Aries FilterWorks. They only supply NSF certified filtration from state of the art facilities utilizing the most up to date technologies.
The Hydro-Alive 6-Stage Reverse Osmosis has a Biocera Alkaline Antioxidant Mineral Filter.
City Water Filter is proud to supply our customers with the highest quality reverse osmosis water with AlkaSmart (Made in USA) Alkaline Mineral Filters or Calcor pH Neutralizing Mineral filters (Made in USA).
City Water Filter has chosen its filters and products based on what will purify yet produce the healthiest water for our customers. When comparing other providers, make sure they understand your particular water chemistry or pollution and how to remove it.
Please do not install any reverse osmosis systems without remineralizing the water. As water flows around the ceramic beads trace, amounts of minerals are returned and creates naturally alkaline water. The minerals is not intended to supplement your diet. The importance of the mineral filter is to change the pH of the water to alkaline in a healthy way. In nature, water flows down mountain streams and picks up alkaline minerals from rocks in the stream, in which the filter mimics. Depending on the acidity of the source water, the pH will vary. The Biocera Filter provides an average pH of 8.
We recognize what the public truly demands, which is healthy clean water for their families. Installing a generic system at all locations within the Bay Area does not accomplish this goal. Although many people do not discriminate or get caught up in fancy salesmanship, the days of lacking public understanding about water and its important healing properties are coming to an end in the not so distant future.
Point-of-Use System
City Water Filter has chosen its filters and products based on what will purify yet produce the healthiest water for our customers. This is done with consideration of all options. The tank is stainless steel. Although, whole house reverse osmosis systems do exist they do not present a practical option as they produce considerable amounts of waste water.
The membrane is a DOW filmtec with a 50 gallons per day capacity. FILMTEC elements produce higher flows than many competitive elements at identical pressures. FILMTEC home drinking water RO elements are constructed using advanced automated manufacturing technology. FILMTEC elements are built to optimum physical tolerances, minimizing element-to-element differences. In addition, critical fastening points are sonic-welded for maximum strength and durability. The tank has a rubber bladder to keep the water pressurized.
Additional cost could include:
- Drilling Sink or Counter
- Connecting the system to the fridge
What about waste water?
The reverse osmosis drains about 2-3 gallons for every gallon that it makes. This may be equivalent to a couple gallons per day or a few showers a month; however, it is not enough to affect your water bill. To improve efficiency, a permeate or electrical pump can be added at an additional cost.
